A Testimony to tell – Our next Europe Trip is sooner than we thought!

We are back in Dubai after a very refreshing Trip to Europe to celebrate my birthday and sort of alone time for Peter & I.

As most of you know by now, GOD has yet again surprised us with something that we’ve never really thought would happen just before our trip ended.

Before I unveil the surprise, I don’t think you guys know that half of our expenses were paid using the Emirates voucher we received from our AED 25,000 Nido winnings, if you’re new in this journal, read the story here. Some of the fund were used to pay our travel package to India with the whole family including Peter’s Parents in July last year, when we visited 5 cities in India, read about our #apinaytouring6indianstoseethetaj adventures here. We had about AED 7,000 left from the voucher which was used towards our Euro trip package. The thing is we had the choice to use the voucher to go to Paris with our family of 5, for 4 days but without Peter’s Parents, but we’ve chosen to share the blessing with them and took them with us to see the Taj Mahal and other cities that they haven’t visited before, we toured around for 12 days.

So going back to the surprise from GOD. In the morning while Peter and I were praying I told him, he should ask GOD (on my behalf) for a business class upgrade in our flight back to Dubai. So he did, in fact these were his very words “LORD, you know that Candice deserve this business class upgrade, even if there’s only 1 seat available please can you give it to her, I’m ok staying in the economy”. Very casual, friendly prayer, just the way they chat.

Then off we go to the airport, while chatting with the Emirates check in staff (Peter used his charm), queried about the flight etc. And the staff just blurted out that the fight is fully booked and if we’re willing to give up our seats. As a compensation we will be given a return ticket each to Prague. We were asked to wait until all passengers have checked in to make sure that they really require our seats.

Long story short after an hour of waiting and praying we were called by the staff and were given another voucher for a 2 way ticket to Prague/Dubai that is valid for a year :-). Yehey!!! I wanted to do my victory dance but I controlled myself hahahahhaIMG_0024

During the flight back to Dubai it dawned on me, Peter and I just prayed for a business class upgrade and we were given another Trip to plan for Europe. It’s as if GOD is saying “Is that all you want? You know I can give you more!”, He can and He did.

Just when I thought he’s already blessed us so much with our Europe trip and the previous family trip in India, He threw yet another blessing on our way.

Our Heavenly Father is indeed a GOD of many surprises, He’s way generous and loving than our minds can comprehend. So don’t ever limit Him when you ask. Ask with a childlike faith know that your Heavenly Daddy will provide.

I hope you guys were blessed with this post, if you are, please do share this around. You’ll never know someone else needs to hear this testimony of GOD’s goodness.

Now time to plan the next Europe holiday, this time with our 3 munchkins!IMG_0002

  1. This is such BS. You do not pray to God to give you personal things like Upgrade in seats or Free tickets.

That is just Greedy and Gluttony. Since both of these are part of the 7 deadly sins why in the world would God waste his resources and grant his prayer?

Give me a break this was nothing more than pure luck and it happens all the time at the airports. It was not a gift from God that he felt you deserved.

If anything it was the work of the devil to see if you were really so Greedy and would show your lack of beliefs by accepting the reward and giving into Gluttony.

Congrats you failed the test from God but passed the work of the devil!

    Enjoy your next trip.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

    1. James McKee thank you so much for taking time to read the whole article. This was written to encourage people to pray and ask GOD even for the simplest desires of their heart and I’m sorry that it landed on the wrong audience. You’ve opened with a line saying that you believe in god, I don’t know what or who is the god you believe but the GOD that I believe in has said in HIS word in Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” You see, things don’t happen by chance or luck, maybe for you but not for me and my family. I know in my heart that someone is looking after me and will give the things that I ask in faith. Because I have tasted and seen HIS goodness over and over again, if this is a sin as you have said, I don’t think GOD will even bless us in so many occasion. My prayer is that this same GOD will visit you and show Himself true to you and your family. GOD bless you

    2. Candice Valdez Isaac You pray for materials, and things for you to benefit from so you “can taste his goodness”.

I pray for health and help for others. I never get greedy with my prayers or ask for things that are not a need, like Upgrade for seats. I would never be so selfish.

I find living in a modest house, in a modest city, making a modest salary and helping others provides enough for me as I have my health and my wealth (self worth not money) in life.

People that have to prove their devotion to God and or Quote the Bible in doing so are normally the worst sinners. Not saying you are but then again you admitted to praying for two or three things that are considered the 7 deadly sins.

Maybe since you are such a good God fearing woman you will tell your husband to donate the sale of those tickets to the church, or another charity that could really use that money to stay open to feed and cloth people. Some how I doubt that will happen.
      Enjoy your next trip….

If you are such a God fearing person maybe God has put our paths together so you take a minute or two and think about your actions as a God fearing person. Ask yourself, did God really give you those tickets, Does God really want you to use them…. Some how I doubt that will happen too.

But like I said Enjoy your next trip….

Maybe God is showing himself to YOU and YOUR FAMILY right now through me….

      May God be with you!

    3. BTW did you ever think that God booted you off the plane for being so greedy and asking for material things you did not need.

It was the Airline policy that gave you the free tickets that God has no control over?

The street runs both ways I suggest you look both ways before crossing…..

May God be with you when you cross.

    4. I’m not going to invest a lot of time and thought defending the things that I do, to you or to anyone, my actions & words will speak to people.

You are entitled to have your own opinion and I respect that and I don’t expect the same from you since I know we don’t believe in the same GOD.

But before you conclude on things just because of a single blog post, make accusations and use ill words to other people, please get your facts right. I can see that we have 2 mutual friends, if you have taken time to respond to this blog post, I hope you also take time to know the writers behind, as I have just asked Criz Penalosa about your background and I know where you’re coming from.

I’m not going to allow anyone to plant seeds of doubt on this matter to me, because I know very well this is from the GOD that I believe in, He is my provider. You may feel the urge to respond again and be the last one to say a word, I hope you will be wise to write something that will build other readers up.

Anyway, I’m sincerely praying for you and your family.

    5. You Said “I’m not going to invest a lot of time and thought defending the things that I do, to you or to anyone, my actions & words will speak to people.”

      Ahhhhh you just did….

I wrote this long reply but I have to edit it. I was thinking all morning of why…..

Why would there be more than one God. After all there can only be one. Why would this person keep saying we do not have the same God?

The fact is there is only one God and many beliefs when it comes to religion. I am Roman Catholic. I was raised in a Catholic Boys home where we were taught every meaning of the good book. We prayed the rosary every night before going to bed. We slept, ate and drank everything about our religion so we were never confused what God has granted us and what he gave us the power to earn for ourselves. Most of all we learned what it meant to pray for and what we should never ask for.

You say God is your provider, you should have finished that with love, needs, strength, and compassion. God does not provide material items, he merely provides you the strength to obtain what your heart desires.

Why would this person bring my family into this?
Criz is my family! She has been my family since I married into her family almost 25 (oh yes it has almost been that long) years ago. I love her as my family and next to God there is nothing more important than my family. I would die for each and everyone of them. However Criz has never met me so while you want to go ask who I am from people that do not even know me I suggest you take the time to know the real me.

I am the Crazy White American Uncle that is loyal to a fault. Screw with my family and I will be the first one to yank your chain…… get it…

You say I pass judgement and assume things about you but I really haven’t. I have only analyzed your own written words and pointed out that you had committed 2 of the 7 deadly sins, so why would God reward such behavior.

It would seem you are trying deflect your sins by casting doubt on my beliefs of “My God” so your sheep will still follow you and your words you write. You tailor the Bible to your life when you should be tailoring your life to the Bible. You try to cast doubt on “My God” yet “My God” is “Your GOD” too.

So rather than pray for me and my family pray for yourself to understand the Bible, God and his teachings so you are not so judgmental, greedy or selfish.

Best of luck to you and yours My God have mercy on your soul.
